Tennis Times: Building a Legacy of Growth

This year was nothing short of transformative for Tennis Times. With over 500 hours of private lessons and more than 1,000 hours of group coaching delivered through Northampton Tennis Coaching, we saw participation soar. The number of children in our group sessions grew from 51 in January to an impressive 98 by December—a testament to the passion for tennis in our community.

We are incredibly proud of the commitment shown by our players and their families. Every serve, every rally, and every step forward on the court has been part of this shared success. We can’t wait to see what new heights we’ll reach together in 2025.

Kettering Tennis Club: Where Dreams Take Flight

Kettering Tennis Club hosted three dynamic tournaments, we brought players of all ages and their families together to celebrate the love of tennis. From seasoned competitors to young rising stars, everyone brought their best to the court, rain or shine.

• County Team Success

• Congratulations to Sofia, Sophia, David, and Adrian for joining the County team this year! Your hard work and talent set the stage for even greater achievements in 2025.

• Evie’s Journey

• Well done to Evie, who has now won an incredible 60 tournaments in three years, inspiring us all with her dedication and skill.

• International Success

• A special shout-out to Chris Brigstock, who reached the ITF Masters Wimbledon Clay Court semi-finals this year after a finalist performance in 2023. Fantastic achievement!

Celebrating Achievements That Inspire

From individual victories to team triumphs, 2024 was packed with remarkable accomplishments at Kettering Tennis Club:

• League Champions: A massive congratulations to our Mixed A, Men’s A, and Men’s C teams, who dominated their leagues and proudly collected their trophies at the East Northants Tennis League Presentation.

• Duston Cup Glory: Chris and Bethany made history as the first pair from Kettering Tennis Club to win the prestigious Duston Cup. 🏆

• Brian Ashby Tournament: In a thrilling finale, Toby and Ben emerged victorious, taking home the Brian Ashby Trophy, while Chris and Judy were worthy runners-up.

• Men’s Finalist Achievement: Special recognition goes to Chris Todd and his double’s partner Istvan Nemeth, who made an impressive run to the finals at Long Buckby.

All-Weather Champions: Tennis Through Rain and Shine in Northamptonshire.

If there’s one thing 2024 proved, it’s that tennis at Kettering thrives in any weather. Rain or shine, players of all ages embraced the challenge with resilience and determination. Community Spirit and Club Nights, Events

One of the standout highlights of 2024 was the incredible attendance at our club nights. Week after week, players of all levels came together to enjoy the game they love. This strong sense of camaraderie and support is what makes Kettering Tennis Club such a special place. Whether you’re a seasoned player or just starting out, the spirit of togetherness is felt every time you step onto the court.

In April, Kettering Tennis Club hosted a fantastic event that gave many people the opportunity to try tennis for the first time. This initiative brought new faces to the court and showcased the joy and inclusivity of the sport.

Later in the year, we held a Race Night Fundraiser, which was a resounding success and well-attended by our wonderful community. The event not only raised valuable funds but also brought members and supporters together for a fun-filled evening.

These events, combined with the ongoing energy of our club nights, demonstrate the vibrant community spirit that defines Kettering Tennis Club.
